zAppliance $ ^{\mathrm{TM}} $ System can facilitate rapid data center migration which would only be limited by the speed of the internet connection between the data centers. As a virtual tape appliance, zAppliance $ ^{\mathrm{TM}} $ System incorporates a proprietary volume image duplication process. The process initiates the transfer of volume images as they close and dismount at the source facility. The target facility would include a second zAppliance $ ^{\mathrm{TM}} $ System to receive the images. As volume images arrive, the target data center could start the restoration process. All volume images are compressed and protected with AES-256 encryption.

zAppliance $ ^{\mathrm{TM}} $ System also allows for the duplication and subsequent transmission of all other vendor tapes images in use by the customer, either virtual or real tapes.
